Where we're headed
I have been absent in recent weeks, chiefly because the thing that has consumed me has been something I couldn't talk about in this universe. Today it is final though. We are moving from Portland, Oregon to Jackson Wyoming.
We have agonized over this decision since the job offer came at the beginning of April. In the end, Robert Frost helped me to get there.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
We have so much to look forward to: Grandparents a few doors away. Unprecedented natural beauty outside our back door. Fantastic schools. Wide open space.
We are giving up so much in return: A fantastic city. The perfect house in the perfect neighborhood. Proximity to the best friends anyone could imagine.
I think it is the right decision. We can only know for sure if we try it. We leave Portland in early August. On your mark, get set, pack!

Oh my gosh! What an exciting adventure you are beginning. I know you will have a fantastic journey. Good luck packing, moving, etc!
WOW!! I must admit I am a bit envious of your adventure but not your packing!! Only wish I had gotten to know you better. Best of everything.
